A Brief History
A brief history
The John L. "Johnny" and Leola J. "Lee" Jackson Family purchased this farm in 1958 when it was covered with 6-foot-high dog fennels that encompassed a small brick bungalow that needed a great deal of work, and a farm tractor along with other equipment and a number of run-down farm buildings that needed to be removed. The tractor was later used to help clear the land and bring it back to a place of beauty. It was a labor of love, and for a number of years every free time was used to make Jackson Farm a home for our children and all our animals that was loved. Here we are in 1969, with our children and animals.
Where we are today
After years of repairing and adding on to the little bungalow, Lee decided it was time to build a house of her dreams and move the bungalow to a new location. Johnny acquiesced. The original house was jacked up and moved a mile to a location nearby. We lived there while we built the columned home in 1990.
